Vikings Make Coaching Changes

Darrell Bevell: Offensive Coordinator - But for how long?

When a team like the Vikings, who went 12-4 in the 2009 season, radically underachieve the following season, someone has to pay. In the NFL, it’s rarely the players.

First, Brad Childress was fired and Leslie Frazier was named Interim Head Coach. Just this Monday, Frazier was named the 8th head coach in the history of the Minnesota Vikings. He’s acting swiftly to divest the team of the coaches and assistant coaches he intends to replace.

Brett Favre with Kevin Rogers

At the time of this writing, Darrell Bevell is still the Offensive Coordinator for the Vikings. Coaches that are no longer with the team are:

  • Kevin Rogers, Quarterbacks Coach
  • Pat Morris, Offensive Line Coach
  • Jim Hueber, Assistant Offensive Line Coach

It’s also been reported that Fred Pagac appears to be safe and will succeed Frazier as Defensive Coordinator.

More to come on coaching changes for the Vikings. Stay tuned! Maybe we can get all of the drama for 2011 done this week, setting us up for a relaxing 2011 season. Maybe.
